I am running an online workshop tomorrow for Social Sciences Week in Australia, on Social Science Fiction. I’ve pitched it to people who are keen fiction readers, and people who are readers/submitters to So Fi Zine and Fiction @ The Sociological review, so hopefully there’s something interesting in there for everyone.
It’s been incredibly enjoyable to prepare for — I found a list of all the novels I read while writing my own, which prompted me to reflect on all the inspiration I gained from books like Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ One Hundred Years of Solitude when trying to write and theorise sociological fiction.
If you’d like to register for the workshop, you can do so here.
I’ll be doing a Q&A via Twitter so if you can’t make the session live you’ll be able to join in the conversation online afterwards. Just tweet me (@awtsn) and/or use the hashtag @SSW2020
