Call for submissions So Fi Zine #16
+ discount code for Tipper & Gillman's new book Fiction and Research
Happy October (!)
So Fi Zine is once again open for your submissions of sociological flash fiction, poetry and visual art. Get these in by October 31 for consideration for edition #16.

Putting together a new edition is one of the best parts of my year. I relish every submission and hope this zine remains a space for people to experiment, play, find a home for things that doesn’t fit elsewhere, and revel in the creativity of everyone who features. I’ve talked to a lot of new people about the zine this year, so if you’re new don’t hesitate to submit. I hope to see all the familiar names in my inbox too who make this zine feel like a real community.
I am keenly waiting for my copy of Becky Tipper and Leah Gillman’s new book with Policy Press, Fiction and Research: A Guide to Connecting Stories and Inquiry, to arrive in the post. I actually have two copies on the way, and the next time you hear from me I will do a giveaway via this substack, so keep your eyes peeled for a chance for a free copy soon!
In the meantime, the great team at Policy Press have shared a discount code that you can use to get 25% off the book:
Order the book with 25% discount with code ASP25 at the checkout at: https://policy.bristoluniversitypress.co.uk/fiction-and-research
For orders from Australia and New Zealand, please contact renee.l.collins@newsouthbooks.com.au directly.
Becky and Leah published a story together in The Sociological Review’s Fiction series in 2020, called Three Stories About Egg Sharing. You can see how well their creative collaboration works in the fiction and also read about their process in their exegesis.
Thanks for reading! And please submit to So Fi Zine and share the call widely.
